A Steam And Air Flow meters in India is a device for measuring, monitoring, or recording the rate of flow, pressure, or discharge of a liquid, as of a gas.

An Steam And Air Flow meter is a type of flow meters that measures the flows of a liquid, gas or steams by using the principle of ultrasound. The flow meter can measures the average velocity along the path of an emitted beam of ultrasound, by averaging the differences in measured transit time between the pulses of ultrasound propagating into and against the direction of the flows. Steam Flow meters are affected by the pressures, temperatures, density and viscosity of the flowing medium.

There are three different types of Steam flow meters. 

  1. Transmission Steam And Air Flow meter, which can be distinguished into In-line Steam And Air Flow meter and Non-Intrusive Steam flow meters.
  2. Reflection or Doppler Steam And Air Flow meter.
  3. Open-Channel Steam And Air Flow meter.
Steam And Air Flow meter such as In-line Flow meters are Multivariable Flow meters as it is used for the measurement of liquid, gas or steam in industrial applications for the water and wastewater treatment plant, chemical and petrochemical, oil and gas, power, pharmaceutical, paper, food and beverage industries.
Multivariable In-line Steam And Air Flow meter, are used for steam flow monitoring of most liquids, gases or steam. Multivariable In-line Steam And Air Flow meter   utilizes three primary sensing elements, a vortex shedding velocity sensor, a temperature sensors, and a pressure sensors to measure the Steam flow rate of liquids, gases or steam.

In-line Steam And Air Flow meters  operates in a following manner:
  • It measures flows of liquids, gas and steam by detecting the frequency at which vortices are alternatively shed from a bluff body.
  • As flows passes a bluff body in the Steam  flow stream, Air meter, the vortices create low and high pressure zones behind the bluff body, or shedder bar.
  • In-line Air Flow meters uses a piezoelectric crystal sensor to detect the pressures exerted by the vortices on the velocity sensor.
  • The piezoelectric crystal converts these "pulses" into electrical signals. The meters uses a sensor designed to create a robust sensor and to minimize potential leaks.

Ever wanted to quickly and cheaply measures the flows rate of a gas flows or water flows, then one of the simplest and most economical flowmeters on the market is the variable area type flowmeters. Often referred to as a rotameters or glass tube flowmeters, this is one of the most economical and reliable instruments for measuring flows. They are available in a wide variety of configurations for different gases, fluids, temperatures and pressure, all with differents styles of connections. It consists of a simple measurements principle of a floats moving up and down in a graduated tapered glass tube. As the flows enters the bottom of the meters, which is positioned in a vertical position, the flow pushes the float upwards until a sufficient gap has grown between the tube wall and the floats, at this point the float is in equilibriums. Decreasing the flow causes the float to fall and increasing the flow causes the float to rises. With a calibrated graduated scale marked on the tube, the positioning of the float then determine the flows rate through the meters. The float is often a cone shaped slug in the larger meters and a ball in the smaller meters.

Electromagnetic Flow meter in india



ADDMAS a versatile Electromagnetic flow meter is ideal for conductive liquids such as Raw Water, Chilled water, effluents, Potable water etc. Using time proven electromagnetic flow metering principle, the meter achieves a flow meter for pipes from 15mm to 600mm. Since there are no moving parts, the flow meter gives years of maintenance free service.


ADDMAS flow-head can be supplied in Teflon lining or Hard Rubber lining is available with all the features required in a field mounted water metering equipments. These include - weather proof enclosure, communication options, RTC with data logging with printer option and 4 to 20 mA isolated Flow signal transmission option for flow pattern recording. The converter is available as field mounted-IP65 protection category. GSM modem interface can also be supplied as an optional add-on feature.

MEASURING PRINCIPLE
The operating principle of Magnetic flow meters is based upon Faraday's Law of electromagnetic induction, “ It state that a voltage will be induced in a conductor moving through a magnetic field”.

Faraday's Law :
  • E = kBDV where
  • E = Induced Voltage
  • B = Strength of the magnetic field
  • D = Conductor Width
  • V = Velocity of the conductor
The magnitude of the induced voltage E is directly proportional to the velocity of the conductor width D, and the strength of the magnetic field B. Liquid acts as a conductor as it flows through pipes.
